The Chenier name is synonymous with the quality fine art and distinctive picture framing that was the reputation of the Gallery of Fine Arts for over thirty years. The Gallery of Fine Arts was the first fine art gallery in Northwestern Ontario and was owned by Debra’s parents. Jean and Denis Chenier operated this well-known gallery in Thunder Bay South for over thirty years. Debra grew up in the family business.It was during these early years from age seven that Debra gained her valuable experiences in art appreciation and customer service while working with her mother, father, and long time Gallery of Fine Arts manager and friend Rose Valigrosky. Jean Chenier exhibited and sold original art by prestigious Canadian, local and international artists such as The Group of Seven, Alex Collville, Harold Town, Henry Moore, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Norval Morrisseau, Alex Kennedy, and Auguste Rodin.
